These 857s Men's Cross-Training Shoe were a replacement sneaker delivered to me by New Balance. I experienced problems with many pairs from the 608 and 609 line. My issue with the shoes were durability, quality, and fit problems not connected to Amazon, so I went straight to NB. After telling them how I wore my sneakers and what I had a problem with, the New Balance customer service representative recommended the 857 sneakers for more motion control that the shoe did provide; but, they were a tight fit in comparison to every shoe I owned in a standard width in addition to all my New Balance. They were tight for a cross training sneaker and felt much more like a boot. I had hoped they would loosen up with time, however they didn't. Sadly, my complaints to do with quality are the same in this sneakers as with the 609s and 608s. The soles started to separate from the uppers additionally the blue inserts on the shoes' soles also came unglued. I put on these for a huge amount of walking at work in addition to 3-4 miles with the dog each day for 1 month. At this point, they became painful and clumsy to put on. The soles were worn out and peeling apart, so I threw them out. Very disappointing. I have putting on New Balance cross training sneakers for over ten years. Their comfort and quality were the best I had got. I recently ordered these shoes as a substitute for my MX856 pair which had finally worn out. I was aware that these sneakers are manufactured much more cheaply. The sneaker felt like cardboard in contrast to previous New Balance shoes. Within some weeks of wear, the shoe's sole peeled off at the front toe. Sadly it looks New Balance has sold out product quality for profit. I wouldn't recommend this shoe.

Fast delivery and great price. I have used these sneakers for over ten years to assist with chronic planter fasciitis. This shoe is the only one I've found that offers me all day comfort. Each shoe pair lasts about one year and I put them on throughout, even as slippers. I put on an 8-1/2, 2E size which permits me room for my inserts. This current years model drifted back to being close to the 855 model without having the breathing vents on each of the sides. This is why they look tighter than the previous years 856 model taking into account other users comments. The 856 model side vents permitted more front side to side spacing. My previous years 856 sneakers were the best fit I have ever had. I often use 'Anti-Shox Conform Orthotics and Gel' inserts in my shoes. They offer the best price here at Amazon. The previous years sneakers lasted approximately one year until the sneakers' side vent threads got out making them to loosen on the left shoe. I may still put them on as working shoes. This is why they removed the side vent on this current years model since all the previous models lasted for more than a year. The inside support begins to give making my foot shift outward after approximately a year. These sneakers last longer than any other sneakers I have had. I put them on all the time for work, casual and dress. At New Balance, their goal is to assist you achieve yours.
